JKTF stages protest

JAMMU, Apr 11: A protest demonstration was held today by Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Forum (JKTF) at Zonal Education Officer’s office at Marh.
A large number of teachers under the leadership of Ganesh Khajuria, State general secretary of the Forum, assembled at ZEO office, Marh and raised slogans in support of their demands which include release of salaries of teachers working under SSA, RMSA and NPS schemes, who were without salaries for last several months.
The speakers condemned the role of Education authorities for not taking seriously the salary problem of teachers, who are at the verge of starvation without salaries.
“It has become the routine of Education Department to harass the innocent teachers and compel them to come on roads for salaries”, the speakers said, adding if the salaries were not released in favour of teachers and Masters working under SSA, RMSA and NPS schemes soon then the Forum will hold a protest in the office of Directorate of School Education, Jammu, on April 21 at 11 am sharp.
Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Darshan Sharma, Devinder Singh, Baljeet Singh Subhash Sharma and many others participated in the protest.
