JAMMU, May 22: A virtual meeting of the central body members of the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum was held today through videoconferencing, under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, State Chairman JKTF for discussing the present scenario prevailing in the School Education Department.
Even as all the members expressed their satisfaction over the workings of the incumbent Director School Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, they also highlighted the long pending issues of the teaching community of Jammu province.
JKTF said that a large number of Lecturers, Headmasters & Masters, hailing from the Jammu, Samba & Kathua districts are working in the far flung, hilly and remote areas of erstwhile Doda, Rajouri and Pooch Districts for the last so many years but their transfers to their home districts have not been initiated by the concerned authorities despite the fact that they have completed their requisite tenure at their present places of posting. The Forum sought repatriation of these people to their home district and suitable adjust before initiating the general transfers in order to provide justice and save them from the further harassment.
The Forum also demanded immediate confirmation of the Lab Assistants, who were promoted as Teacher in the OPG (Own Pay Grade) by conducting the DPC after observing all the required formalities and creation of posts of Masters as the Masters working as Head Teachers in the Upgraded Middle Schools under the erstwhile SSA scheme are without the sanctioned posts since last more than one decade.
The issues of Contingency Paid Workers (CPW), Mid-Day Meal Cooks and Daily Rated Workers were also highlighted and the Forum demanded justice to these workers by implementing the Minimum Wages Act in their favour.
The Forum pressed for early DPC of all the cadres as there is an acute shortage of Principals, Headmasters, Lecturers and Masters in the School Education Department.
