JAMMU, Apr 5: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) was held under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajaria, State general secretary of the forum, today.
In the meeting, the forum discussed problems faced by the teaching community which were regarding removal of pay anomalies in the Master grade in the pre-revised grade of 6500-10100 to 7450-10500 as agreed by the Government in an agreement with Employees Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), release of salary grants in favour of teachers/Masters working under SSA and RMSA schemes. Release of salary teacher grade in favour of Under Graduate teachers who are facing stagnation for the last so many years and provision of half yearly grants as the practice of monthly grants for salary hampers the smooth functioning of Education Department.
While addressing the meeting Ganesh Khajuria, State general secretary of the forum expressed resentment against the lapse of NPS grants in many Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) offices as the teachers appointed in the New Pension Scheme had already suffered a lot due to non-availablity of NPS funds.
The forum strongly appeals to the education authorities to frame a policy so that the funds under various schemes are released well in time for the drawl of salaries.
Other present in the meeting were Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Satish Dutta, Kuldeep Singh and Soorat Singh Tufani.
