UDHAMPUR, Oct 2: JK Teachers Association (JKTA) Unit Udhampur has sought a review of the ongoing rationalisation process initiated by the School Education Department.
While addressing media persons, here today, JKTA District Chairman Surjeet Singh Thakur welcomed the rationalisation process but sought amendment in the ratio of teachers prescribed for Primary and Middle Schools.
“JKTA has also always fought for stable, equitable and permanent student teacher ratio in all the schools in general and particularly for rural students but the authorities have given one teacher for fifteen students which is not possible by a teacher to run the school and moreover pre primary classes are also started in primary schools,” he said.
Surjeet Singh Thakur demanded two teachers for each primary school as already three teachers were given in these schools by earlier Govt and also demanded five teachers for each middle school.
Those who were present in the press conference, included Kuldeep Singh, Manmohan Singh, Pradeep Sharma, Sachin Sharma, Sanjeev Guleria, Jagdev, Gopal Singh, Vikas Sharma and Onkar Singh.
