JAMMU, May 17: JK Teachers Association has appealed Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha for vaccination to the teachers’ fraternity on priority basis.
Expressing concern over the dilly dallying tactics in vaccination to the teachers fraternity across the UT J&K, its president Bhupinder Singh demanded vaccination be done on priority. Pertinently, most of teachers across the UT are rendering their services as front line workers. Apart from this, the teachers also have been engaged in other duties viz BLO , Mid Day Meal and various other such engagements. Now, irony is that, most of departments have received the inoculation but our Department is still in inactive mode. Bhupinder Singh added , past few days witnessed a huge loss in the Department when about 8 dedicated teachers were lost due to ongoing Pandemic.
Singh expressed that timely vaccination could be crucial at this peak time of pandemic. He also appealed to the Government that incentives must be released in favour of those teachers on par with medical staff who are working as front line workers in COVID-19 as they are too facing many hardships while going through this tough time.
