JAMMU, Jan 31: Demanding regularization of services, the employees of J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society (JKSACS) associated with Department of National AIDS Control Organization Government of India held a protest in the premises of Project Director JKSACS on the call given by the All India AIDS control Employee Association here today.
The strike is being observed all over the country in support to the call given by the national level body of AIDS Control Employees Association.
Large number of employees belonging to ICTC Centres, ART Centres, PPTCT Centres, OST Centres, STD Clinics, Blood Banks and others assembled in the premises of Project Director, JKSACS and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
The protestors were demanding regularization of their services, immediate withdrawal of the fourth (IV) phase salary order, fourth (IV) phase salary benefits right from April 2012, yearly increments, Medical /EPF/insurance facility and leave at par with regular Government employees.
Interacting with media, State president of J&K AIDS Control Employees Association Shahnawaz Ahmad and president of Jammu Division Anuj Verma said that the emergency services like ART medicines to the HIV positive patients have not been stopped at present but if the demands of the employees are not paid any heed within coming days than the association will be forced to stop the said emergency services also.
President of the association requested the Union Health Minister as well as Minister of State for Health to personally look into the matter and provide a suitable solution to the problem otherwise we will be forced to intensify our agitation and come out on roads.
Meanwhile, similar protest was also held in the premises of Project Director JKSACS at Srinagar.
