JKSAC seeks clarity on PM package

JAMMU, Dec 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has reiterated its demand that compensation for the left out properties of displaced persons (DPs) from PoK be fixed along with reservation for their wards taking into account all recommendations made by the JPC on Home Affairs before disbursing Rs 2000 crore package by the Central Government.
Gurdev Singh, president JKSAC in a press statement today said that it is the travesty of justice that this legitimate issue is not being taken up seriously and remained unresolved by different dispensations both in the State and the Centre for the lack of their political will. The announcement of Rs 80,000 crore package by the Prime Minister recently and keeping Rs 2000 crore for the DPs of PoK and other categories has kindled a ray of hope in the eyes of DPs, he said.
While expressing his regrets Mr Singh said that a package announced by Government disillusioned DPs as it lacks clarity on all sides regarding the number of families to be accommodated and amount given to the each family besides other legitimate reservation and employment package for their wards. He said that Govt must come out with the relevant details in this regard.
