JAMMU, Jan 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has condemned the delay being caused in disbursement of PM package among the displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In a meeting of core group of JKSAC held here the members decided to launch an awareness campaign to educate DPs of 1947 from POK regarding their basic legitimate issues pending with both the Governments concerning their one time settlement. The members also strongly condemned the authorities for making deliberate delay in the disbursement of the Rs 2000 crore package as more that 8000 beneficiaries has yet to get the relief amount. They urged upon Satya Pal Malik to expedite the process of disbursement as the beneficiaries are in great confusion and are being cheated and misled by various agents for their personal benefits.
Stressing upon the incumbent Govt. to take cognizance of the issue for causing delay in the disbursement with respect to remaining beneficiaries, Gurdev Singh, president strongly criticized the Govt for making tall claims to end the disbursement of relief to all the categories of DPs by the end of Nov 30, 2018. He asserted that more than three months have passed, no funds have been released by MHA for disbursement resulting in the harassment of DPs and their being cheated and looted by package Mafia well under the nose of Govt who have been many times urged to check this menace, but no adequate measures have been taken yet and DPs have been left at the mercy of this Mafia for the monetary benefits. He urged upon the Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene into the matter personally and stress upon the MHA to release the funds on priority for DPs.
He regretted that certain political parties who could not do justice with the DPs for the last more than 6 decades, are now raising the bogey of Rs 25 lakhs package each DP family, approved by their Govt just to exploit the DPs for taking political benefits in the forth coming elections.
