JKRCEA holds rally at Hiranagar

HIRANAGAR, May 21:  Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Employees Association (JKRCEA) along with all socio-religious organizations took out a mass rally in favour of political resolution to reservation in promotions.
A strong gathering comprising ladies, children, youth, elderly and employees from different reserved categories started march from community hall Hiranagar and travelled a distance of 5 km  on foot in a disciplined manner raising slogans in favour of restoration of reservation in promotions.
Former MLA Dhyan Chand, while addressing lambasted the Government for not contesting in favour of its own law which is in consonance with Article 370, 35-A of Indian Constitution and Article 6 of J&K Constitution.
S R Majotra, Retd Deputy Director, said whenever BJP comes in power its targets the majority community by either raising debate on constitutional review or by targeting reservation, that is one of the weapons of educational and economic progress of SC, ST, OBC and other reserved categories. He sought immediate political solution to the problem and warned that in the event of failure the situation may turn out of control that may damage the democratic structure of this country.
Bodh Raj Bhagat, senior vice president, Al India Bhagat Mahasabha appealed for large scale social unity amongst SC, ST and OBCs for long term goal of snatching political power from the micro minority of this country.
In his presidential address, Dr Sanjay Bhasin, president Jammu Kashmir Reserved Category Employees Association, said the reservation will continue till castes continue in India. He urged the Government to end the impasse that has arisen out of High Court’s order by adopting 77th, 81st and 85th constitutional amendments by way of appropriate Ordinance. He also appealed the Government to amend Article 23 of J&K Constitution by adding provision of reservation in education, jobs and promotions for reserved categories in it.
Prominent among those who addressed were association general secretary Dr Zabeer Ahmed, vice president JKRCEEA Retired Employees unit, C R Munde, P K Chouhan, M R Bangotra, Roshan Lal Bhagat, Bishan Dass, Shamas Din, Mushtaq Ahmed and Alam Chowdhary. Proceedings were conducted by Lok Nath and vote of thanks presented by Daya Ram.
