JKPYCC delegation submits memo on demonetization to DC

JAMMU, Jan 20: A delegation of J&K Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (JKPYCC) led by State general secretary, Pankaj Basotra and LYC president, Thakur Hoshiar Singh, today met DC Jammu, Simrandeep Singh and submitted a memorandum highlighting the hardships faced by the common people due to demonetization.
Through the memorandum, the delegation demanded that the Prime Minister should answer the questions relating to the demonetization and its effects on the overall economy of the country and the black money recovered through this process after the completion of 50 days period apart from questions on the issue of corruption and demanded a thorough inquiry and investigation into the matter.
Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Basotra said that Youth Congress is going to launch agitation across the State to expose the corrupt practices of Narendra Modi, who as per the report of income tax department has taken Rs 65 crore from Sahara group and Rs 25 crore from Aditya Birla group during his tenure as chief minister of Gujarat.
The delegation while demanding the enquiry from an independent agency, also sought PM’s resignation, stating that resignation of PM is necessary to conduct a fair probe into the matter.
Lashing out at Modi Govt, Hoshiar Singh alleged all ‘big corporate friends ‘of BJP had settled their black money well before he made his demonetization decision public on November 8 but the common people and poor are facing hardships on this count.
Ricky Dalotra and Anoop Gupta (LYC general secretaries), Abhinav Sharma, Sumit Sharma and Jagjot Singh (LYC secretaries), Dayal Singh and Gurdeep Singh (AYC presidents) and Mohd Rafi Malik, Prateek Singh and Ajay Gupta (AYC general secretaries) were part of the delegation.
