JAMMU, Jan 20: Minister of State for Health and Medical Education Asiea Naqash today said feasibility report for establishment of National Institute of Medicinal Plants (NIMP) proposed to be established in Bhaderwah is pending clearance with the Government of India.
Replying to a question by MLA Daleep Singh Parihar in the Legislative Assembly, the Minister said the two sites identified for establishment of NIMP at village Kotli (50 kanals) and village Basti (100 kanals) in Bhaderwah were inspected by an Expert Committee of the Union Ministry of AYUSH in July 2015.
“The report of the Expert Committee has not been received by the State Government till date, despite assurance given by the Union Minister of AYUSH during his visit to the State in October 2015,” she added.
She said a case regarding the issue is also pending before the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in PIL titled Naresh Kumar Gupta and others versus Union of India and others.
Legislators Neelam Kumar Langeh, Raja Manzoor Ahmed and Javaid Beigh raised supplementary questions.
