JKPWA demands immediate release of leave salary, pay arrears

Srinagar, Aug 4: J&K Industries Pensioners’ Welfare Association (JKPWA) today demanded an immediate release of pending leave salary and due drawn pay arrears as per JKCSR.
In this regard, the office-bearers of the JKPWA held a meeting in which the participants expressed their anguish over the behaviour of officers of J&K Industries towards them and not addressing their issues.
“The leave salary and due drawn pay arrears are not being released despite repeated requests and meetings with the Managing Director and Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer JKI,” General Secretary, JKPWA Gh Mohi Ud Din Bhat said.
He said that both the officers instructed on the spot their staff to release the leave salary in our favour, “but nothing has been done in this regard so far.
JKPWA said that it has been seen that the officers are sitting in their chairs at the Corporate Office JKI for more than 15 years in one place and “are not bothering the instructions of their superiors.”
He said that the JKPWA has decided to prepare a list of such officers and bungling at JKI and will forward the same to the higher authorities of the Union Territory.
“We have already given one more chance to the management of JKI which is up to August 15, to release the leave salary in favour of the pensioners as per JKCSR who have not been paid the same till date,” the JKPWA said.
The Association also thanked the LG Sinha and worthy and the Chief Secretary for releasing 11% DA in favour of Pensioners of JK UT strictly as per the norms fixed by the Central Govt.
“We appeal the L.G. and Chief Secretary to enhance the Medical Allowance to Rs. 1000 per month being paid to Central Govt. Pensioners and hope that orders to this effect shall be issued at the earliest,” JKPWA said.
