JKPF to honour families of martyrs on July 24

JAMMU, July 1: Jammu Kashmir Peoples Forum, a social and non-political organization is organizing a function on July 24 to honour the families of soldiers/officers belonging to Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and armed forces including CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB and the officials of Jammu and Kashmir Police who sacrificed their lives for safeguarding the territorial and national integrity of India since 1947 till date.
Addressing a press conference here today, JKPF president Ramesh Sabharwal said that the function is being presided over by Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh and the main speaker in the function would be Dattatreya Hosabale, general secretary (Sar-karyavah) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He said the venue of the function would be at Gulshan Ground, Jammu opposite Jammu University and the function would start at 10:30 AM and would culminate at 1:30 PM.
Sabharwal informed that about 2,000 families of the martyrs belonging to Jammu and Kashmir would be honoured and facilitated in this function by the Defence Minister and other dignitaries including senior officers of Armed Forces and Police Forces to celebrate and commemorate 75th year of Independence of India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
He said the participants in the function would be the retired persons of the different armed forces and prominent personalities of J&K.
Others present in the press conference were Lt General RK Sharma (retired), Advocate Raghu Mehta, Ashok Gupta and Advocate Vikas Sharma.
