JAMMU, Jan 29: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Polytechnic Employees Association (JKPEA) here, today called on Principal Secretary, JK Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon.
The representatives of the Association appealed him to consider the long pending demands of non- gazetted employees of various cadres of the sector.
During the meeting various issues were brought in to the notice of Principal Secretary, which include timely placement of eligible candidates to the higher posts; conducting of DPC in time bound manner and to clear the candidates already placed on higher posts; transfer of staff; pay anomaly; policy in favour of in-service candidates for acquiring higher qualification; framing of recruitment rules for the benefit of in service eligible candidates; absorption of “helpers” to the available vacant Class-IV posts in Polytechnic sector; regularization of daily wagers/casual labours.
They also demanded enhancement of salary of candidates working on academic arrangements/guest faculty; incorporation of diploma qualification into recruitment rules in Government Departments; induction of physical instructors in each Polytechnic College; creation of polytechnic section in the directorate of Skill Development; placement of eligible demonstrators as lecturer-1, improving the quality standards in Polytechnic Sector.
Those present in the meeting include Polytechnic Employees Association, president Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Nazir Ahmad Tantray, vice president, Manmohan Singh and Goutam Sharma.
Among representatives of academic arrangements of Polytechnic Sector those present were Vicky Sharma and Vidhu Puri. Neetu Kohli (Hostel Warden) also accompanied the delegation.
