JAMMU, July 19: All Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners and Civil Society (JKPCS), Jammu today submitted a memorandum of their demands to Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers including Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley.
Through memorandum, the Association demanded that 7th Central Pay Commission be declared as National Pay Commission, so that its recommendations may be implemented simultaneously in all states including J&K.
It was also alleged in the memorandum that State Government employees and pensioners are deprived of many benefits, which are being enjoyed by the Central Government employees.
The Association urged the PM that uniform percentage increase in pay structure of various categories of employees and pensioners may be observed, as the same has been ignored in 6th Pay Commission report. It further asserted that commute should be recoverable in 12 years instead of 15 years and pensioners and family pensioners of all states should be brought under the cover of National Health Scheme.
The memorandum also included other demands like enhancement of monthly medical allowance to Rs 2000, giving additional quantum of pension at the age of 65 instead of 80 years, implementation of one rank and one pension by the Central Government, merging of 50% DA in basic pay or pension, 20% interim relief to employees and pensioners, providing Rs 2000 to senior citizens as medical relief under Senior Citizen Act 2007 and making provision for medical re-imbursement to the pensioners and family pensioners.
