JAMMU, June 1: A delegation of OBC Department of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) led by its chairman, Suresh Kumar Dogra met Principal GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina and put forward various issues concerning patients.
The delegation presented a memorandum to Dr Sunanda Raina wherein the members demanded to ensure proper sitting arrangements in OPD for patients and attendants. The delegation members also highlighted non-availability of Nurses and Paramedical staff in the wards, lack of facilities in the emergency ward, shortage of ventilators, non- availability of critical ambulances and shortage of other ambulances.
Providing unhygienic foods to patients admitted in the hospital, over charges in the parking, unclean floors and bathrooms, long waiting for the X- Rays and Ultrasounds and other diagnostic tests, unavailability of the prescribed medicines in the Fair Price Shops of the Hospital and suffocated atmosphere for patients and attendants in the wards during summer season were other grave issues which were taken up with GMC Principal.
Dr Sunanda gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to redress all problems as early as possible.
Parshotam Mehra, Vijay Kumar, Gurpreet Dogra, Abhishek Kumar, Ravi Mehra, Ajay Kumar, Sunny Rajput and Haji Mohammad Abdullah were part of the delegation.
