JAMMU, June 1: A deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee headed by its President Roshan Lal Raina called on Chief Engineer Power Development Department (PDD) and Chief Engineer Public Health Engineering (PHE) in their office chambers, here today.
Raina was accompanied by his General Secretary Behari Lal, and members namely Bushan lal, Nana Ji, CL Zutshi and Badri Nath.
While meeting Chief Engineer PDD, Sudhir Gupta, the members apprised him about the problems being faced by the residents of the colony by disruption of the power supply from last one week.
The deputation said that R2 feeder at Roopnagar is overloaded as it has to cover a large area, adding that whenever any transformer gets damaged, R2 feeder is shut down and remains off for hours and the area under this feeder faces problems during scorching heat.
The Chief Engineer while admitting that the feeder has long area, served instructions to SE M&RE with regard to reducing load of the R2 feeder.
The deputation was assured that the problem will be mitigated within a few days.
The deputation also met Chief Engineer PHE Vinod Gupta and apprised him of the problems being faced by the people because of water scarcity.
The Chief Engineer assured the deputation that their issues will be resolved at an earliest.
The deputation also met SE JDA, who they said instructed Tehsildar JDA for identifying land for new Tube Well in Durga Nagar.
The deputation also met Chief Engineer R&B and requested him for blacktopping of lanes in the area.
