JAMMU, Apr 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) have warned the public to remain vigilant against “mischievous persons” posting their photos with DGP on social media without seeking his permission.
In a press statement, JKP said, “it has been observed that some individuals present in various social and cultural events with DGP and other senior officers are posting their pictures with these officers without seeking their prior consent.”
The police emphasized that posting such photos without the permission of the individuals featured is not only a “breach of etiquette” but can also have legal repercussions.
“This is especially concerning if these images are used to mislead others, falsely suggesting personal connections with law enforcement authorities to intimidate, extort money, or promise government favours,” the police statement read.
Accordingly, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have urged the public to remain vigilant against such malpractices.
Further, the general public has been requested to report any suspicious activity to the police.
