JKP rewards civilian for sharing information on Pak drone

JAMMU, Feb 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Police bestowed a cash reward of Rs 3 lakh upon an alert citizen who provided crucial information leading to the recovery of a Pakistani drone by security forces in the Ramgarh sector of Samba district.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Vinay Kumar, presented the reward in a felicitation ceremony jointly organized by Samba Police & BSF.
The event, graced by IG BSF DK Boora, DIG BSF Jammu Sector Chitter Pal, CO BSF 148 Battalion Kamal Rawat, and local dignitaries, underscored the significance of public cooperation in countering narco-terrorism sponsored by Pakistan.
On January 18, 2024, the informant, a resident of village Nandpur, noticed a suspicious object near the Border out Post (BoP) Chamliyal. Promptly alerting the BSF unit, the security forces swiftly recovered the surveillance drone, thwarting potential threats.
SSP Samba, in his address, emphasized the pivotal role of public vigilance in combating trans-border threats and apprised the community of the various rewards announced by DGP J&K for actionable intelligence on border security concerns.
IG BSF reiterated the importance of community vigilance and pledged full cooperation to residents, especially those near the International Border, in safeguarding their surroundings.
