SAMBA, Jan 21: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Samba District have filed six FIRs against the house and land owners for not submitting details of their tenants during a recent verification drive.
A police official said that the drive, conducted by the police to verify the credentials of tenants and domestic workers in the jurisdiction of Police Stations Samba and Ghagwal, was part of an ongoing security initiative.
He said the cases were registered at both police stations, with four FIRs filed at Police Station Samba and two at Police Station Ghagwal.
Despite an order issued from the District Magistrate Samba to ensure police verification of tenants, the owners involved failed to comply, he said.
Meanwhile, in a statement, SSP Samba has urged the public to come forward and provide complete details of their tenants or domestic helpers to the nearest police station and ensure that the verification process is completed promptly.
