JKP has tackled many challenges effectively: DGP

JAMMU, Jan 7: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh visited PTTI Vijaypur and district Samba where he addressed the trainees and interacted with officers and jawans.
DGP first visited PTTI at Vijaypur where he was received by the DIG JSK Range Vivek Gupta, Principal PTTI Vijaypur Ashok Kumar Sharma and other officers of the institute.
After taking slaute on the guard of honour, the DGP addressed the trainees. In his address the DGP said that whenever he visits the training institutes he remembers his days of training. After one passes out from the training center he/she faces new challenges everyday, the DGP added. It is here in the training center that one gets time and training to get ready and confident for the future challenges and assignments.
Expressing his happiness over the cashless system put in place in the institute, the DGP said that the trainees should learn how to manage their finances. He advised the trainees to focus on their training and responsibility. He impressed upon the trainees to remain committed to the service in true spirit and follow the oath which they will take on their passing-cum-attestation parade.
Earlier, the Principal of the institute Ashok Kumar Sharma presented a report on the activities and functioning of the institute.
Later, the DGP visited Samba where he witnessed a demonstration of rescue by Mountain Rescue Team of the Armed Zone at 12th Battalion Headquarters. He interacted with the trainees and the instructors and was briefed about the aims and objectives of the mountain rescue training programme.
DGP J&K Shri Dilbag Singh, IGP Jammu MK Sinha and DIG JSK Range Vivek Gupta planted fruit trees in the complex of the battalion.
DGP alongwith IGP Jammu interacted with the officers and jawans of 12th Battalion and Samba district in DPL Samba.
Referring to the different aspects of policing, the DGP impressed upon the police personnel to involve the community by giving and getting cooperation from the people. He said that J&K Police has tackled many challenges in the past and will continue to do so on different fronts including terrorism. DGP also inaugurated the Police Control Room building Samba DPL.
Earlier in his address, IGP Jammu MK Sinha said that the policemen need to remain alert and give no room to any complacency.
SSP Samba Koushal Kumar Sharma and Commandant IR 12th Battalion Sharief Chouhan gave brief resume of their respective units. They also highlighted some demands before the DGP.
A number of officers and jawans presented their problems and grievances before the DGP who assured that their problems and grievances will be redressed shortly.
