JKP Constable, 8 Army personnel get gallantry awards

JAMMU, Jan 25: One Constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police and eight Army officers/officials has been conferred President’s gallantry awards for showing conspicuous bravery during anti-terrorist operations in J&K.
Constable Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh of J&K Police has been awarded Shaurya Chakra posthumously. He made the supreme sacrifice during an anti-terrorist operation in Baramulla district on May 25, 2022.
Major Shubhang of Dogra Regiment (62nd Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles) has been conferred Kirti Chakra for his stout leadership during a anti-terrorist operation in Budgam district in April 2022 during which he neutralized a hard core terrorist.
Naik Jitendra Singh of Rajput Regiment (44th Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles) got Kirti Chakra for exhibiting exceptional valour and courage as lead guide in three anti-terrorist operations, resulting in elimination of seven terrorists.
Major Aditya Bhaduriya of Kumaon Regiment (50th Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles) has been conferred Shaurya Chakra for displaying indomitable courage and devotion beyond call of duty during an anti-terrorist operation on 11 March 2022 in which he eliminated a hard core foreign terrorist.
Captain Arun Kumar of Kumaon Regiment (13th Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles) has been given Shaurya Chakra for eliminating one terrorist and assisting elimination of other during an operation in the hills of Bandipora on 11 May 2022.
Captain Yudhvir Singh has been conferred Shaurya Chakra for displaying audacious bravery and heroic courage during anti-terrorist operation in Kulgam district on 11 April 2022 in which he eliminated a hard core foreign terrorist.
Captain Rakesh T R of 9th Battalion of The Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) got Shaurya Chakra for showing unparalleled courage in eliminating one terrorist and preventing a fidayeen attack during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit for a public rally on April 24, 2022.
Naik Jasbir Singh of 6th Battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles has been conferred Shaurya Chakra posthumously as he made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during an anti-terrorist operation in Kupwara district on July 8, 2022.
Lance Naik Vikas Choudhary of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles (3rd Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles) has been awarded Shaurya Chakra for displaying exceptional bravery in neutralizing a hardcore terrorist in forest area of Anantnag district on May 6, 2022.
