JKNVA celebrates Navy Day

JAMMU, Dec 7: J&K Naval Veterans Association celebrated Navy Day at a function at Zila Sainik Board Ambphalla here on Sunday.
The members of the Association reached Ambphalla from various parts of Jammu, I. e, Akhnoor, R S Pura and Vijaypur.
All members paid rich tributes to the hero of 1971 Indo-Pak war and observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect for the martyr Capt. M M Malla of Indian Navy who sacrificed his life by going down with the I.N. S Khukri keeping the traditions of navy.
The programme started with cutting of the cake by vice president of the Association Yudhvir Singh and its other members. The prominent members also spoke about the problems being faced by the naval veterans after retirement. They said that JK NVA will continue to work for the welfare of the retired navel personnel and their widows.
They said that the Association will represent before the appropriate forums the problems as deemed appropriate to safeguard the interests of naval veterans arising from time to time. It will also continue the membership drive, they added.
