JKNPP takes out protest rally demanding restoration of AIIMS to Jammu

UDHAMPUR, Apr 11: Intensifying the momentum of district level agitation for restoration of AIIMS to Jammu region, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today took out a protest rally from Salathia Chowk to DC office.
The protest rally was led by Balwant Singh Mankotia, president JKNPP and Yashpal Kundal, president, Young Panthers. The rally which started from Salathia Chowk passed through several markets and finally culminated at DC office, where the JKNPP activists later staged a one-day sit-in-protest.
Expressing dismay, Balwant Singh Mankotia lambasted the BJP leadership for surrendering Rs 1600 crores AIIMS to Kashmir that was actually announced for Jammu region.
Mankotia said that despite announcements having been made by two Union Ministers at New Delhi it was shocking to note as to how the BJP partnered Government in the State allowed the prestigious project to be transferred to Kashmir.
He condemned the BJP for playing the politics of betrayal with the gullible people of Jammu Pradesh by retreating from its core issues and promises made to the electorate ahead of Assembly elections last year.
While speaking, Yashpal Kundal cautioned the BJP to arise, awake and start raising the issues of Jammu Pradesh as the anger and frustration is brewing and seething among the masses. He said that the non-restoration of AIIMS to Jammu would prove disastrous and detrimental to the saffron party.
