JAMMU, Aug 3: All J&K Mahasha Sadar Sabha (JKMSS) has demanded the major political parties to give mandates to the candidates belonging to the Mahasha community, who remained neglected by the successive State Governments due to non-representation of the community.
In a press conference held here today, working president of the Sabha, Jagdish Raj, said despite the fact that Mahasha community is one of the largest community amongst the Schedule Castes (SCs) in the State, it became the victim of vote bank politics adopted by the major political parties, who while remaining in power from time to time, openly discriminated with it.
He said that Sabha has decided to launch a State wide social awareness campaign to educate the community members not to fall prey of those political parties which are responsible for the backwardness of the community.
The Sabha appealed the community members to vote for candidates of only those political parties, who give sufficient mandate to the candidates of Mahasha community in the upcoming Assembly elections.
