JKMEGA members review status of pending issues

JAMMU, Feb 1: The Council member meeting of  Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) today reviewed the status of long pending issues like, regularisation, promotions, expansion and cadre management.
The members present expressed displeasure over the non- serious approach of administration towards the issues of expansion of Mechanical cadre as inspite of all proposals pending for final approval from many years and the non- utilsation of Mechanical Engineering in modern mechanised world is unfortunate and has given rise to ineffective public deliverance of services and unemployment.
The stores procurement department (SPD) as state asset has been made defunct inspite being only source to procure quality standard material through global tendering and high quality tests and vital state items have been preferred to procure by non- professionals without proper standard of testing, storage and supply.
It was observed that the slow process of HRM wing regarding regularisation, finalisation of seniorities at all levels and non- filling of vacancies especially at AE, AEE, XEN & CE level has affected fraternity by additional charge menace .
The president JKMEGA, Firdous Bhat has expressed displeasure over the behavior of authorities towards Mechanical wing & has appealed the higher authorities that the issues like regularisation, promotions to all vacant posts, finalisation of seniorities, expansion Mechanical Divisions in MED,PHE,I&FC & other departments, creation of Mechanised Disaster wings at Distt level etc may be addressed at an earliest.
He expressed hope that the present cadre review / rationalisation committee framed stands apprised by memorandum but now time has come to implement and utilise Mechanical engineering in full with a separate administrative control at Commissioner level.
