JKMEF flays regional discrimination with nurses

JAMMU, Dec 6: In a meeting of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) here today chaired by Sushil Sudan, Federation president many issues of the employees were discussed.
Speaking in the meeting, Federation members expressed resentment and concern over the selective nomination of nurses from Kashmir for National Florence Nightingale Award which was given on 5th of December 2019 at New Delhi.
This Award is given to the Nurses for their meritorious services.
Federation President flayed the discriminatory approach of Indian National Nursing Council as well as the Health and Medical Education Department of J&K UT for constantly ignoring the contribution of Nurses of Jammu region.
He questioned the selection procedure for conferring the awards and said if there was no nurse in Jammu region who rendered meritorious services?
Sudan said that the concerned authorities have failed to highlight the services of nurses of Jammu province.
Choudhary Jarnail Singh, Kamaljeet Sawney, Hoshyar Singh, Shabnam Begum, Suryia Bani, Roshi Dubey, Parveen Kumari, Aeney, Santosh, R.P Singh, Mohd Saleem and Sonia Sharma were also present in the meeting.
