JAMMU, May 11: A deputation of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers’ Federation (JKLTF) headed by its chairman, Bhushan S Verma and president, Mohan Singh, met Minister of Education, Naeem Akhter at her official residence at Gandhi Nagar and presented a charter of demands.
Commissioner Secretary, School Education, Shaleen Kabara; Director, School Education, Jammu, Simran Deep Singh and all 10 CEOs of Jammu Province were also present.
The deputation in meeting with the Minister expressed deep concern over non-release of salary of teachers under SSA, RMSA and NPS, besides attached Masters and Lecturers. The demanded immediate roll back of KAS and IAS posted as Joint Director of School Education, filling up of all vacant posts in school and equip schools as per modern techniques for the betterment of the students, provision of separate toilets for boys and girls in all schools and provision of chowkidars to look after schools after working hours.
The Federation further demanded conducting twice a month inspection by administrative officers in schools to stock of the teaching-learning process by interacting with the students, review of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) scheme by fixing accountability of teachers and students to raise the standard of education, do away with offering extra assignments to teachers except general election and general census, enhancing working days in Government schools by minimizing vacations, timely supply of free books and funds for supply of mid-day meal and activation of SIE and DIET to provide training to teachers as per present needs.
The other demands highlighted by the deputation include holding of DPC of all cadres ever year, extending selection grade to undergraduates, initial higher start to qualified, earned leave to vocational staff, timely release of salaries, removal of pay anomaly of Master grade, regularization of all gazette officers and implementation of SRO 252.
