JKIFTS gives out ‘Best Columnist Award-2021’ to writers

J&K Innovative Foundation holds ‘Best Columnist Award-2021’ function in Srinagar. —Excelsior/Shakeel

Srinagar, July 28: The J&K Innovative Foundation for Transforming Society (JKIFTS) today held ‘Best Columnist Award-2021’ function here during which the awards were given to the best writers from J&K.
The organizers of the event said that the function was organized as a get together during which the awards were given to the best writers who have been extensively and continuously writing on various issues for the last several issues.
The writers who were given the award include Dr Muhammad Amin Malik, Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo, Mushtaque B. Barq, Reyaz Ahmad Mir, Sheikh Shabir, Mushtaq Hurra, Shafqat Bukhari, B.L. Saraf, Chetan Prabhakar, Sunny Dua, Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat and Abrar ul Mustafa.
On the occasion, the speakers expressed their thoughts in front of the gathering that had reached the venue to attend the ceremony.
Chairman of the JKIFTS, Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo said that they had taken into consideration various factors before the awards were given to people who have made a difference through their writings
“This is the initiation of acknowledging the work of writers whose role has been phenomenal,” he said,
While talking about the JKIFTS, he said that it is the foundation that was launched last year and the main purpose of the JKIFTS is to spring innovative initiatives related to varied sectors.
“We have done a lot concerning spreading awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic through webinars, conferences and we are planning to hold big plans starting with the youth conference which will be held annually so that youth gets a platform to express their thoughts,” Dr Itoo said.
