JKHCBAJ bids farewell to Chief Justice

JAMMU, May 29: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ) today organised a farewell function to bid adieu to the Chief Justice Arun Palli on his elevation as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

The function started with the presentation of memento and shawl to honour Chief Justice by the team of office bearers led by President K Nirmal Kotwal alongwith, Vice President Baldev Singh, General Secretary Pardeep Majotra, Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan and Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal.
All the Judges present in the Jammu wing of the High Court including Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rahul Bharti, Justice Sanjay Dhar, Justice Akram Chowdhary, Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Justice Rajesh Sekhri and Justice Shahzad Azeem were also welcomed by the Association.
The function was attended by the Senior Advocates, members of the Bar, Y P Bourney, Member J&K Special Tribunal, Jammu, Registrar General, Registrar Judicial, Registrar Computers, Registrar Vigilance of the Hon’ble High Court, Secretary High Court Legal Services Authority and all the Judicial Officers of the District Judiciary.
The proceedings were conducted by General Secretary Pardeep Majotra.
The function began with the speech of President Kotwal, who shared his views on working with the Chief Justice, and appreciated the Chief Justice for his accessibility and cooperation towards the causes of the Bar. He termed the tenure of the Chief Justice as an era of development, during which the judiciary saw an unparalleled growth and a conducive working atmosphere for both the members of bar and the bench.
Chief Justice, while addressing the demand of the JKHCBAJ, laid foundation stone of a new Bar Hall complex for the young and female members of the Bar. He also inaugurated the Creche facility in the Court Complex, which was a long demand of the Bar Association, besides dedication of a hall for the clerks of the Advocates at the High Court complex.
The Chief Justice was overwhelmed by the affection and respect shown by the members of the Bar, and expressed that such emotions were unprecedented, and more than his parent High Court, he received much affection here. The Chief Justice also appreciated the efforts of the office bearers of the High Court Bar Association for their dedication towards the betterment of legal fraternity of Jammu and expressed his gratitude for the cooperation received by him from his colleagues as well as members of the Bar Association.
