JAMMU, July 26: Election of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu will be held on August 28, 2021.
The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting held today. All the participants were unanimous in the opinion that in view of improvement in COVID-19 situation and decease in number of cases there is no impediment in holding elections subject to compliance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Government.
It was unanimously decided to hold elections on August 28 and counting of votes on August 29. It was made clear in the meeting that any member who fails to deposit the arrears of monthly subscription by August 10, 2021 will not be eligible to propose, second, vote or contest the elections.
“No contesting candidate or supporter/voter will host any party/function in connection with election activities of the Bar and any violation will entail serious action”, reads the handout issued by Advocate Surinder Singh, Returning Officer, J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu.
