SRINAGAR, Feb 8: The newly framed J&K Government Employees Federation (JKGEF) in its meeting constituted the district unit for Ganderbal. The meeting was chaired by Abdul Ahad Rather president of the Federation.
The meeting nominated Sheikh Abdul Rehman president of the District body while Sheikh Noor Mohammed was nominated as secretary and Ghulam Mohammed Raina and Ghulam Nabi Shah as vice presidents.
Mohammed Subhan Dar was nominated as advisor, while Ghulam Mohi-ud_Din Bhat, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Sheikh, Ghulam Rasool Sheikh and Pervez Ahmed were nominated as Working Committee members.
The meeting expressed grave concern over anti working class attitude of the State Government and accused it of brining the draconian laws to suppress the working class in the state. The meeting demanded immediate release of arrears of 6th Pay Commission and alleged that in entire country as well as the Central Government released the arrears in two installments while J&K is the only Government which is releasing it in five installments.
It demanded uniform HRA for entire state, filling up of vacant posts in district Ganderbal, regularization of daily wagers, adhock employees and causal laborers.
The meeting made an appeal to Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani a veteran trade unionist to lead the new organization for the welfare of working class.
