JAMMU, Mar 22: J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) conducted 358 awareness programmes on the theme of “Going Digital” in the current month throughout the State.
The camps were organized by Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion (MF&FI) Department of JKGB in collaboration with NABARD in remote unbanked villages of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Srinagar, Rajouri and Poonch districts with a view to educate the participants regarding the bank’s financial services and products
Vipan Gupta, senior Manager, MF&FI Department, JKGB, educated the participants regarding various tailor-made deposits and loan schemes of the bank. The participants were also appraised about the social security schemes launched by the Government of India i.e. PMSBY, PMJJBY and Atal Pension Yojana for the welfare of the common man.
He enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of bank cheques, use of PoS machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Adhaar based transactions, etc. He explained the participants about the products, deposit and to avail credit facilities in general like Housing Loan @8.35%, Transport Loan@9% and Car Loan@ 8.95%.
He also stressed upon the schemes of small and big industrial loans and requested them to visit their branch without any hindrance for their all banking needs under one roof. People were educated about the Aadhaar seeding and mobile seeding with their respective saving bank accounts which is need of the hour for the banking sector.
Regional Managers of the bank for various districts highlighted that these programmes focuses on to give information to SHG members about bank linkage, operation of loan accounts and prompt payment concept for NRLM subvention and other available support to SHGs.
They stressed upon the need of using various applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions that shall not only save time of the customers, reduce their wait times in the bank but shall give boost to direct revenues of the Government in the shape of tax collections utilized for development of villages.
