RAJOURI, June 22: Fifteen-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Manufacturing and Services sector under Seed capital Fund Scheme of Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth organised by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) commenced at Panorama Higher Secondary School, here today.
ADC Rajouri, Matloob Khan, was the chief guest who while inaugurating the EDP emphasized on the importance of hard work and dedication required for undertaking any business activity.
“Innovation is required today in business sphere and I want youth to take the initiative and something which is new in the local market”, he said.
He felt that information with regard to various schemes is not available to the masses and in this concern JKEDI must collaborate with similar organizations like DIC, DECC, KVIB and KVIC so that it can reach to every youth of the district.
General Manager, DIC, Rajouri, Dr Musheer Mirza, who was also present appealed youth to come forward and start investing into manufacturing sector, quoting that the economy of Poonch and Rajouri districts is greatly dependent on trading, which therefore has created a void in manufacturing sector.
He extended full support in terms of registration and other facilities from the concerned office to the budding entrepreneurs.
Nodal Officer, JKEDI, Rajouri, Vishal Ray, said that the main objective of this EDP is to imbibe amongst the participants the required entrepreneurial and managerial skills so that they are able to start their own ventures.
On the first day, twenty-five participants attended the programme.
