JAMMU, Jan 30: Jammu and Kashmir Children’s Welfare Society (JKCWs) on Thursday released calendar 2020 and adopted two girl children for education purpose at Amar Singh Club Jammu to illuminate the mankind regarding Guru ji’s shabad “Why Call her Bad Who Gives Birth to Great Kings.”
The calendar carries the picture of the first Sikh Guru, along with the images of Bibi Anup Kour, Amrita Pritam, Lata Mangeshkar and Madar-e-Meharban, FLT Lt Mohana Singh, Bhai Kanhaiya Singh, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Swami Vivekananda, Dr BR Ambedkar and Chhatra Pati Shivaji Maharaj.
Addressing the media persons here, Chairman of the Society, Gurdeep Singh Sasan dedicated the whole programme to the 550th Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and strongly condemned the menace of female feticide and advocated female gender discrimination is one of the greatest cruel, barbaric crime against humanity and if this heinous act is not stopped right now the crime against women will be increased drastically.
He further said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji took upon journey including entire Bharat an many other countries and preached oneness of God and guided the people with logical while commencing upon prevalent superstitious in the name of religion. Guru Ji in his throughout life preached the people to respect the women because she is mother, daughter, sister and wife and moreover a creator of humanity.
He appealed to the Government to immediately amend the present PC-PNDT act as there are many loopholes in the Act. “Female feticide is not murder of one foetus but it is a genocide of one gender, so the culprit should be booked under section 304 IPC and other relevant sections of IPC and should be considered as non bailable offence”, Sasan pleaded.
He demanded that the Government should make reservation seats in the Parliament as well as in the State Assemblies and should reserve minimum 33 percent quota in the Government jobs and said that the society would dedicate whole year to propagate preaching of Guruji by taking out rallies, organising seminars at schools.
