SRINAGAR, Dec 26: J&K Bank conducted a District Level Review Committee meeting at DC Office Srinagar, which was chaired by DDC Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Shah to review the progress achieved at the end of September 2014 under ACP 2014-15.
In the quarter under review, District Srinagar has distributed Rs 884 crores against the target of Rs 1978 crores thus achieved a growth of 45% under priority sector and Rs 342 crores have been disbursed against the target of Rs 2020 crores registering a growth of 17 percent only. Under various sponsored schemes at the end of September 2014, Rs 41.72 crores have been disbursed among 4309 beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLRC Farooq Ahmad Shah expressed satisfaction over the relief package declared by J&K Bank for rehabilitation and revival of people of the district.
While approving the District Credit Plan for Rs 4718 crores with an increase of 18 percent over the DCP 2014-15, he stressed on Banks and sponsoring agencies to be pro-active in implementation of the sponsored schemes to achieve the proposed targets.
The meeting was also attended by R N Kaul (AGM RBI) and Zubair Ahmad (NABARD) besides representatives of banks and sponsoring agencies operating in the district.
The Bank also conducted a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of Ganderbal District at Mini Secretariat Ganderbal, which was chaired by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal Sarmad Hafeez.
Lead District Manager Faiz ullah Qureshi briefed the house about the achievements of the banks, which have disbursed a total amount of Rs 160.98 crores for establishment of 7025 units at the end of the second quarter for FY 2014-15 registering 38 percent achievement.
He advised the financial institutions to sanction and disburse cases strictly as per guidelines and in close co-ordination with sponsoring agencies.
