JAMMU, Apr 6: Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) demanded DPC of AEAs, restoration of old pension scheme and a comprehensive transfer policy for AEAs in a monthly meeting which was presided over by JKATA president Dr Surinder Radotra at Exhibition Ground near Press Club Jammu, here today.
During the meeting, the technocrats alleged that they were suffering due to prolonged stagnation in the department as the Government has failed to conduct DPC of Non-Gazetted /Gazetted officers since framing of J&K Agriculture Gazetted Service Rules in 1988. “The officers are retiring at their entry level pay scale even after rendering 35 years of regular service in the department concerned,” they said.
Dr Surinder Radotra said that due to non-conductance of DPC, many Non-Gazetted/ Gazetted Agriculture Officers got no promotion in their lifetime and retired on the entry level posts. He demanded immediate restoration of the old pension scheme w.e.f from April 2007.
The technocrats also raised the issue of promotion of AEAs and complete regularisation of in-charge JAEOs of both the divisions.
They urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Dr Arun Mehta and Principal Secretary Navin K Choudhary to intervene into the matter for the well-being, motivation and career progression of the young Agricultural technocrats of both divisions.
