J&K Govt amends Services Leave Rules

JAMMU, Apr 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Government today amended the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Leave) Rules 1979.
A spokesman of J&K Finance Department said that on the directions of the Lt Governor, some amendments have been made in the J&K Civil Services Leave Rules, specially related to the child care.
The spokesman said that in Rule 41-A; in sub-rule (1), for the words “woman employee”, and single male employee”, shall be substituted.
Further, sub rule (3) shall be substituted by, “During the period of child care leave, a woman employee and single male employee shall be paid one hundred percent of the pay drawn immediately before proceeding on leave for the first three hundred and sixty five (365) days, and eighty percent of the pay for the next 365 days.”
The spokesman further said that at the end of clause (ii) of sub- rule (7), these words shall be added: “However, in case of single female employee, the grant of three spells in a calendar year shall be extended to six spells in a calendar year.” And after clause (v) of the sub- rule (7), the following shall be added as clause (vi)- “Child care leave may not be granted for a period less than five days at a time.”
After clause (vi) of sub-rule (7), this explanation shall be added, “Single male employee means, unmarried, widower or divorcee Government employee.”
These provisions shall take effect from the date of issuance of the notification, that is April 6, 2022, the spokesman added.
