JAMMU, May 9: Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organised a book release function of The Silent Guardian, authored by Dr Tabeya Deep Kaur, at KL Saigal Hall, Jammu. The event witnessed the participation of academicians, writers, literary enthusiasts, students and members of the cultural fraternity.
Sonali Arun Gupta, Additional Secretary, JKAACL, was the chief guest, while the programme was presided over by Padam Shri awardee Prof Lalit Mangotra. Prof Sucheta Pathania, former Head of the Department of English and former Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Jammu, attended as guest of honour.
Additional Secretary, JKAACL appreciated the literary contribution of Dr Tabeya Deep Kaur and highlighted JKAACL’s continuous efforts in promoting literature and providing platforms to writers. Prof Sucheta Pathania praised the author for her creative vision and described the book as a meaningful reflection of human emotions, courage and resilience.
In his presidential address, Prof Lalit Mangotra stressed the importance of literature in shaping society and preserving cultural values, while also lauding contemporary writers. A detailed review of the book was presented by Prof Geetanjali Rana, former Dean, Faculty of Arts, Cluster University of Jammu, who analysed its narrative structure and thematic depth.
The author, Dr Tabeya Deep Kaur, expressed gratitude to JKAACL and thanked all dignitaries and participants for their encouragement. The programme was conducted by Mitali Gupta.
