JKAACL organizes Punjabi Folk Music Programme

JAMMU, May 19: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with National Public High School, Abtal, Ramgarh (Samba), today organized a Punjabi Folk Song and Music Programme at National Public School, Abtal, Ramgarh.
Senior writer, columnist on art & culture and renowned artist Jang S. Verman was chief guest on this occasion whereas Popinder Singh, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi, JKAACL and Davinder Singh Bhatti, Principal of NPHS, Abtal were present on the dais. Staff and students of the school attended the event.
Local folk artists of Samba and R.S Pura along with students of the school presented traditional Punjabi folk songs, Bhangra and Giddha.
Prominent artists and groups which performed in the programme were Subhash & Party, Samba; Rattan Lal & Party, Samba; Suman Lata & Party, R.S Pura.
Welcoming dignitaries and the artists, Devinder Singh Bhatti appreciated the role of the Academy in organizing the programme at his institution in the border area of Ramgarh and remarked that such cultural activities inspire students to associate with their culture and heritage.
Popinder Singh Paras, Jang S. Verman also spoke on the occasion.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sakshi Verma while vote of thanks was presented by Devinder Singh Bhatti, Principal of the School.
