JAMMU, Feb 12: To provide platform to the young budding writers, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Hindi Department, University of Jammu today organized Hindi Kahani Goshthi in the PG Deptt of Hindi, JU.
Those who presented their short-stories, included Rajni Kumari, Bandana Sharma, Sunil Kumar Salehra, Nisha Verma and Mitali Sehgal.
Prof P N Trisal, a prominent short-story writer, presided over the event while Dr Baljeet Raina, eminent Punjabi short-story writer and scholar, was the chief guest. Prof Parvinder Kaur, HoD PG Deptt of Punjabi and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also present in the presidium.
While delivering his presidential address, Prof P N Trisal said that the short-stories presented in this Kahani Goshthi clearly indicates that the youth of the present time is capable of thinking intellectually and reflecting their feelings in the form of short-stories projecting various social issues.. He further said that these budding writers have the potential of language and techniques of creative writing.
Dr Baljeet Raina said that Jammu region is the hub of literary and cultural activities and lingual diversity which create an atmosphere of literary interactions with the youth.
