JAMMU, Feb 26: A composite Mushaira was organized today by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) at Suhanjana in city outskirts.
Sham Lal Choudhary, Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control, was the chief guest on the occasion. A large number of devotees, writers, senior citizens and intellectuals attended the programme.
The poets who participated in this Mushiara and recited their poetry in Hindi, Dogri, Punjabi and Urdu, included Mohan Lal Sharma, Shiv Ram, Rampal Choudhary, Durga Dass, Krishan Lal Gupta, Joginder Singh, Ganesh Dutt, Sohan Bharti, Bala, Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Enu Sharma, Tarsan Lal, Randhir Raipuria, Kewal Kumar Kewal, Kuldeep Kippi, Vijay Sharma, Rajpaul Singh Mastana, Ashok Kumar Gupta, Harsh Kalotra, Yashpal Nirmal, Bachan Bharti, Jang S Verman, Fatul Chand Fakr, Sarpanch Vijay Sharma, Kala Jatt, Bhopinder Singh Bhargav and Mohinder Paincharvi.
Earlier while presenting welcome address, Popinder Singh, Editor, Sheeraza, said that Academy is now approaching the people of far flung areas and linking the youth with its programmes.
Gangadhar Shastri, priest of Dwarka Nath Samadhi, Suanjana, threw light on Guru Ji’s contribution and teachings of Dwarka Nath who worked on value based life and environment. He also conducted the proceedings of the programme.
A book exhibition of the Academy’s publications was also organized on this occasion. The chief guest took a round of the exhibition and went through various books.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by Jagmohan Sharma.
