JAMMU, Feb 20: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Jammu today held an award ceremony function and music programme here at Abhinav Theatre.
Dr Aziz Hajni, secretary, JKAACL, gave away certificates and award money in the form of cheques to the children who stood first, second and in merit category in connection with the annual event of the Academy ‘On the Spot Music Competition’ organized recently by the Academy.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Hajni said that as we need to preserve our great cultural heritage likewise we need to encourage and promote the children too who wants to excel in the field of their choice and in order to fulfill this purpose Academy is committed to provide them a platform to boom in various field of arts.
Earlier, Dr Arvinder Singh ‘Aman’ in his welcome address congratulated the students who participated in the event and especially those being awarded on this occasion.
The children who gave their scintillating performance include Banshika Jaral, Sunil Sharma, Sanviti Dingra and Roshni Kumari accompanied by Bishan Dass. They were accompanied by Rakesh Mashi, Karan Malohtra and Chandan Dass who played Harmonium, Tabla and Synth, respectively.
The welcome address was given by Dr Arvinder Singh ‘Aman’ while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Senior Drama Instructor.
