JKAACL holds music, dance programme

SAMBA, Mar 8: The Sub Office of Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) organized a music and dance programme at Channi Jassu, here today in which over 100 artists showcased their talent.
The artists were welcomed by a large number of audiences who repeatedly applauded them for their mesmerizing performances. Keshav Sharma, DDC Samba was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Subash Bhagat DDC Samba-B was the guest of honor.
Keshav Sharma, DDC Samba while sharing his views lauded the efforts made by the JKAACL’s sub-office, Kathua. He said that the initiatives which JKAACL’s Sub-Office Kathua is taking for the promotion and preservation of the art and culture of the State can never be denied.
He further appreciated the performances of all the performers who made every one spellbound with their magical presentation. “Everyone should come forward for the preservation of the culture of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and all have to take it as a priority and responsibility to nurture the values of our culture and tradition,” he added.
The programme was conducted under the direction of Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Bharat Singh.
The programme was started with the mesmerizing performance by CS Kattal and party and TS Premi and his party which received appreciation from all. The Nagani Cultural Group from Bhaderwah made everyone spellbound with their Bhaderwahi Kud.
It was followed by presentations of Ricky Malhotra and hisparty, Saddam Hussain and his party, Jyoti Devi and his party, Mohinder Kumar and his party, while two Nukkad shows by Vomedh Ranmanch and his team were also staged.
The major highlight of the event was Geetru by Khajoor Singh and his party and Hern by Mohan Mistri and his party.
Sanjeev Gupta SOCA, JKAACL Sub-Office Kathua dwelt in detail about the journey of Sub office Kathua since he took charge. He said that they were trying to do their best in the preservation and promotion of the Art and Culture of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The program was conducted by Bishan Singh Dardi and coordinated by Shoket Ali.
Prominent persons including Advocate Jatinder Kumar (Vice President District Samba), Advocate Devinder Singh (Naib Sarpanch Sadoh Panchayat), Ajay Kumar (Mandal Pradhan, Vijaypur), Naveen Kumar (Naib-Sarpanch, Channi Jassu), Darshan Singh (Former Sarpanch, Channi Jassu) and Nancy Choudhary (Panch, Channi Jassu) were present during the event.
