J&K UT Fencing C’ship concludes

SRINAGAR, Mar 31: The 20th Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory Fencing Championship 2025-26 concluded at Bakshi Stadium. Kashmir. Organized by the J&K Amateur Fencing Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the three-day championship witnessed participation from around 175 players across 12 districts, as per handout issued.
Kathua district clinched the overall winner trophy, with Pulwama as first runner-up and Kulgam as second runner-up. The closing ceremony was graced by chief guest Saurav Sharma, Conservator Central, who lauded the organizers and players for their dedication. Special guests included Nusrat Gazala, Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir and MJ Sharma, Founder President of the J&K Amateur Fencing Association, recognized for his role in promoting fencing in the UT.
Other dignitaries included Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, Sanjay Gupta and district office bearers Omar Mukhtiar and Shakir Ahmed. Winners were felicitated and officials, referees, coaches and volunteers were thanked for ensuring the event’s success.
