JAMMU, Feb 3: J&K Teachers Forum (JKTF) today submitted a comprehensive memorandum to the Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, J&K, Shantmanu, here in Civil Secretariat, highlighting pressing concerns in the education sector and advocating for transformative reforms.
The delegation, led by State president Mohd Ashraf Sheikh emphasized the necessity of immediate intervention to address key issues impacting the teaching fraternity and student learning outcomes.
JKTF sought expedited promotions from Teacher to Master, structured promotion of Masters to Headmasters, filling of vacant posts (Headmasters, ZEOs, ZEPOs), teacher rationalization for equitable distribution, transfer policy for Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) Teachers, timely Career Progression & Promotions, repatriation of Teachers assigned to non-teaching duties, streamlining the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Scheme, etc
JKTF emphasized that these reforms are crucial to aligning Jammu & Kashmir’s education system with national benchmarks and ensuring quality education for students.
JKTF general secretary Mir Bashir Ahmad, UT Press & Publicity Secretary Jalil Ahmed, provincial president Jammu Sanjeet Sharma, Executive Farooq Ahmed Mir and others were part of the delegation.
