UDHAMPUR, Sept 21: A meeting of JK Teachers Association was held here today under the chairmanship of its UT President Bhupinder Singh and District President Udhampur Sudesh Kumar for highlighting the genuine issues of teaching fraternity.
The issue and demands highlighted in the meeting, included; benefit of 7th Pay Commission in favour of Teacher Grade II/lll with effect from 2016, transfer policy for regularized ReTs
Bhupinder Singh said that as per the policy of the Government, conversion of ReT to General Line Teacher means they are now able to take all the benefits the other general line teachers are having. “Government should also think over the transfer policy for RReTs, particularly female teachers who are doing their jobs in other districts. Most of female teachers are staying at their parents homes or are on rent only to do their jobs . It is a big problem because families of teachers are staying away from them,” he explained.
The meet also pointed out that ZEOs were not releasing salary arrears of teachers because there was no formal letter for the same.
Regarding the Impact training, the meet stressed that same training should be must for all teachers while tag of Grade II, III, 3rd teachers was not good and all should be considered as General Line Teachers. The meet also demanded DPC and restoration of old pension scheme.
Those who attended the meeting, included Sunil Salaria, Sanjeev Guleria, Sanjay Sharma, Summit Khajuria, Gopal Singh, Pardeep Sharma, Sabash Singh, Varinder Sharma, Surinder Khajuria, Rajeev and Banu Partap.
