JAMMU, Apr 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Psychiatry Society organized its first CME, here today.
During the CME, which was inaugurated by Dr U K Mehta, Senior Psychiatrist from Jammu, scientific session were held in which doctors delivered lecturers on recent advances in schizophrenia.
Dr Abhishek Chowhan delivered lecture on Schizophrenia, especially its genetics, treatment association with cannabiss use and other substances. Dr Mansoor Ahmad delivered lecture on sleep and sleep disorders, in which he gave a detailed account of sleep disorders leading to Psychiatric problems.
During the session, junior doctors, especially PG students in Psychiatrist, interacted with the speakers.
The scientific session was chaired by Dr Maqbool, HoD Psychiatry GMC Srinagar, Dr H U Shah, Dr Jagdish Thappa, Dr Mohd Aslam and Dr Manu Arora. Dr Rakesh Band presented a formal vote of thanks.
The event was organized by Dr Jagdish Thappa, Senior Psychiatrist along with organizing committee comprising Dr Manu Arora, Dr Rakesh Banal and Dr Abhishek Chowhan.
After scientific session, general body meeting of JKPS was held in which various issues regarding mental health in J&K were discussed.
