JAMMU, Jan 27: A meeting of Central Executive body of All J&K Polytechnic Faculty Association was held here under the chairmanship of Er Ajay Thappa.
The meeting was called to discuss the issues of Implementation of AICTE pay scales and norms. regularization of Principals, HoDs, Lecturers either through UT Administrative Council or J&K PSC which are pending since long with Administrative Department of Technical Education.
The meet expressed complete satisfaction over the response of Advisor K K Sharma and Director Technical Education Sajad Hussain Ganie over their demands during recently held meetings with them and hoped a positive response on their issues very soon.
Er Shoket Ali, Chief spokesperson of the Association, said that no confirmation of faculty has been made by J&K PSC at the level of HoD, Lecturers and even Principals despite of clear vacancy available in the Department of Technical Education. He said that the process of updating seniority of lecturers and demonstrator should be expedited as per roaster and confirmation should be made as soon as possible at the level of Lecturer, HoD, and Principals.
In the meeting, the Central Executive Members appealed to the Principal Secretary Navin Choudhary to project the demand of AICTE Pay Scales and Norms along with ACP as the Polytechnic Faculty are the worst sufferers.
Er Thappa said that there is no policy for polytechnic staff members to get Assured Career Progression and career Advancement Scheme, no time bound policy for the gazetted staff members, no policy for the faculty to go for higher educational qualification, no policy to educate the staff members with the emerging technologies used by the industry and no policy to depute the polytechnic staff to industry for technical growth.
The Association comes to the conclusion that the only solution to all of these matters is the implementation of AICTE Pay Scales, Norms in polytechnic sector, which is published in “The Gazette Of India” on March 1, 2019.
With the emergence of Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory the polytechnic staff members are quite hopeful that present Government will address their demands and implement the same as already implemented in other Union Territories of INDIA in a time bound manner, Thappa asserted.
