SAMBA, Sept 20: J&K police pensioners held protest demonstration in support of their demands at VIjaypur today.
A large number of retired policemen under the banner of All J&K Retired Police Personnel NGO and ORS Forum led by District President Raghubir Singh assembled at Vijaypur town today and started protest demonstration. They also raised slogans in favour of their demands.
They were demanding removal of pay anomaly, enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month, cashless health care policy for the retired policemen, 15 per cent quota for the wards of the policemen for job in the department and sanctioning of at least Rs 50,000 to the family in case of death of retired Police personnel for performing last rites.
They also demanded ban on OPD slip charges for senior citizens in police hospital, separate OPD counter for senior citizens.
Among others present were Kamail Singh, Mohammad Sanif , Uttam Singh, Jagdish Raj Shanna, Ashok Kumar, Naresh Samyal, Manohar Lal, Hem Raj, Mohinder Singh, Devi Dass, Sandal Singh, Jagdish Singh, Tirath Ram, etc.
